Professional with excellent communication, customer service and computer skills. The Accountant will handle accounting functions for a commercial construction company. Work closely with the President of the company and oversee accounting and administrative staff.  Identify and implement process improvements around financial reporting operations. Prepare all journal entries, reconcile accounts, month end accounting close and verify system transactions. Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts to ensure accuracy and reliability. Preparing and/or reviewing reconciliations of various general ledger accounts and ensuring timely follow-up of reconciling items. Responsible for all tax reporting including multi-state payroll taxes, multi-state sales and use tax. Responsible for benefits (401K reporting and compliance, Health Insurance/ Affordable Care Act reporting and compliance) and all HR functions, Union reporting and compliance, garnishments.  Payroll. 3-5 yrs. of Accounting preferably in construction, architecture or engineering. Excel & Word. Spectrum software a big plus! HSG. Accounting Degree. CPA eligible a plus. Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00. Criminal/Drug screening.
